| Kirkpatrick Reunion August 1998 - Olema, California | |

A highlight
of the 1998 Scott/Kirkpatrick reunion was a gift to the
family by Shirley Inman, who hired a bagpiper to come and
play for us. He played 3 numbers, then accompanied us as
we sang Amazing Grace. He then marched out to Scotland
the Brave. It was a nice way to start the afternoon's
festivities. Below: Cousins Carolyn ("Peach") Tucker and Shirley Inman.... Peach wears a Kirkpatrick tartan hat, which Shirley bought for her.

After an afternoon of munching hors
d'oeuvres, the family gathered for a program. The people
celebrating birthdays were honored, Cousin Bruce
Broderick and his wife Eileen, who were married
at last year's reunion, danced an anniversary dance,
and then Uncle Bill O'Donnell, married to Aunt Barb, was
made an official blood relative and crowned King for a
day. For the first
time we gathered the 50-60 of us who had come from
Michigan, Arizona, Alaska, and Nevada for this reunion,
and took one big family portrait. |

The king and his queen (who switched hats) reigned for the rest of the day. In the evening, there was a barbecue and dancing to the Macarena and YMCA. People at the next campground turned their chairs to face ours and enjoy the show. A wonderful time was had by all. Next year's reunion is back in Olema the second weekend in August. |
